AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Receiver or running back -- Ronald Cleveland doesnt know how to classify himself. How about this: Burgeoning playmaker.Cleveland rushed for a score and caught a 62-yard TD pass as Air Force beat Abilene Christian 37-21 on Saturday for its 13th straight win at home. The sophomore plays a hybrid position in the Air Forces triple-option offense. His 33-yard TD run in the second quarter began a spurt of 21 straight points to help the Falcons (1-0) pull away from pesky Abilene Christian (0-1). Cleveland entered the game with one career carry.I dont want to be one of those guys if I come in the defense can key on me, said Cleveland, a football, basketball, track and soccer standout during his high school career in Franklin, Tennessee. I want to focus on getting stronger and being able to make those blocks you need to make on the linebackers and defensive ends. Do whatever I need to do.Hes certainly getting stronger. He can already bench about 60 pounds more than he could a season ago.Tremendous athlete. Highly skilled, Air Force coach Troy Calhoun said. The thing hes done -- finally has arms. When he first got here, this (microphone) cord right here was thicker than his arms. Hes added a little bit that way. It was good to see him contribute.Quarterback Nate Romine guided the offense in his return from a knee injury that sidelined him most of last season. He finished with two TD passes as Air Force improved to 21-0 all-time against Football Championship Subdivision teams. But he didnt play late in the fourth quarter, with backup Arion Worthman taking some snaps. Worthman threw a 17-yard TD pass to Jalen Robinette with 5:27 remaining.Asked if Romine was banged up, Calhoun simply responded: We chose to put Arion in there. We thought we needed to get him out there.Abilene Christian kept it close for most of the game thanks to a defense that recovered two early fumbles. Dallas Sealey threw three TD passes, including a 76-yard strike to Tracy James with 4:14 remaining that made it 37-21.We always say around our place, when you get squeezed the real you comes out, Wildcats coach Ken Collums said. You saw the real us and I like what I see.Air Force hasnt lost at Falcon Stadium since Nov. 21, 2013, against UNLV. Its the longest home winning streak in team history.THE TAKEAWAYAbilene Christian: Dropped to 11-34 all-time against FBS teams, but proved they could hang with the bigger schools. It couldve been even closer, but James tripped over the turf after breaking into the clear in the second quarter and Brendan Conn missed a 35-yard field goal late in the third. These guys are a high-class outfit. They go to bowl games every single year, Collums said. They are tough, and they are relentless, and they are disciplined.Air Force: A ho-hum performance. The Falcons improve to 10-0 in season openers under Calhoun.REMEMBERING DEEThis was a difficult day for the Falcon family as they honored former quarterback Dee Dowis by wearing helmet decals that featured his initials and No. 6. The school also stenciled DD on the 6-yard-line at both ends of the field and held a moment of silence.Dowis died Monday morning in a car accident outside Atlanta. He was 48.A technician at running the option offense, Dowis graduated as the academys career leading rusher.Hed make plays on his own that were beyond sensational and yet the first thing -- and I dont know why this phrase sticks in my mind, but I heard it over and over and over -- `Hey, good job, yall, Calhoun recounted. That tells you a little bit in terms of how strongly he felt about the guys alongside him.UP NEXTAbilene Christian: Host Northern Colorado, Sept. 10. The Wildcats lead the series, 10-5-1, but have dropped five straight.Air Force: Host Georgia State, Sept. 10. And spoken is defined as one calling the other to inquire, no more, no less. SPIELBERG, Austria -- Lewis Hamilton claimed a dramatic last-lap victory at the Austrian Grand Prix after colliding with teammate Nico Rosberg while passing for the lead.?The battle had been brewing for several laps and Hamilton seized the opportunity on the outside of Turn 2, with Rosberg going deep into the corner and colliding with his teammate. The incident wiped out Rosbergs front wing and the championship leader had to crawl to the flag, dropping to fourth behind Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkonen in the final corners.?Despite starting sixth, Rosberg led Hamilton for the majority of the race as he benefitted from an alternative strategy and two slow Hamilton pit stops. However, in the final three laps Hamilton closed on Rosberg and he finally got his chance to pass on the approach to Turn 2 on the final lap.Rosberg took the inside line, forcing Hamilton to try his chances on the outside, but the German -- who appeared to be suffering with a brake issue -- went deep into the corner and a collision became inevitable. The impact damaged Rosbergs front wing, making him a sitting duck on the following straight as Hamilton rejoined the track at full speed and retook the lead.Rosberg also faces an stewards investigation for failing to stop with a seriously damaged car, which could drop him further down the order. The result as it currently stands provides yet another twist in the tale of the 2016 drivers championship, with Rosbergs lead cut from 24 points to 11.Daniel Ricciardo will be disappointed to finish fifth ahead Jenson Button and Romain Grosjean, who both outperformed their cars to score solid points for McLaren and Haas respectively. Carlos Sainz recovered from an engine failure in qualifying to finish eighth ahead of Valtteri Bottas in the Williams and Pascal Wehrlein, who scored the first point of his career and Manors first point since Monaco 2014.The story of the raceHamilton led from the start but was shuffled behind RRosberg at the first round of pit stops.dddddddddddd Rosberg pitted on lap 10 after working his way up to third place in the opening stint, while Hamilton waited until lap 21 to make his first stop. The long first stint appeared to be in reaction to Ferrari, whose cars both started on the super-softs and were running long into the race, but it ultimately cost Hamilton time compared to his teammate. By staying out on older tyres both Hamilton and the Ferraris lost out as Rosberg made up time with a series of impressive laps on his new set of soft tyres. After a 4.2s pit stop, Hamilton rejoined behind Rosberg on lap 21 but his tyres were 11 laps younger.Sebastian Vettel, who had yet to pit, dropped out of the lead after suffering a right-rear tyre blowout on a 27-lap old set of super-softs. The incident brought out a safety car for four laps, which played into Rosbergs hands by extending his stint length on soft tyres. There was some speculation over whether the Mercedes would finish without a second stop, as Verstappen and Raikkonen ultimately did, but on lap 54 it became clear the pair would have to pit again.Hamilton had a second slow stop as he took on another set of soft tyres, meaning Rosberg retained the lead when he pitted a lap later for super-softs. Initially the difference in tyre compound appeared to hand Rosberg the advantage, but an apparent brake issue in the final laps saw his small lead come under threat in the final three laps. Hamilton did not need asking twice, and after a couple of dummy runs on the 69th and 70th laps, finally lined Rosberg up for his move at Turn 2 on lap 71. The resulting collision could split the Mercedes garage once more, with team boss Toto Wolff calling the incident brainless, but sets the scene for a tantalising British Grand Prix at Silverstone next weekend.
