I bought a Philips 55pus6031 TV recently. I have found out that aspect ratio works OK when watching TV but not when watching USB videos. I'll explain: When I watch a video from USB port, if I switch into 4:3 aspect ratio, the TV will add two black stripes on left and right and the image can be seen in a 4:3 aspect, that part works OK. The problem comes when I try to see videos that are wider than 16:9 (for instance 18:9 or 20:9, nowadays most of the tv shows are done in those aspect ratios). Those videos are shown in 16:9 aspect. If I swith the mode into "Auto", which should display the video in the aspect ratio original that it has, instead of adding two black stripes on top and bottom it will show it occupying the whole screen as if it was 16:9, so the characters are shown thinner since the whole image is shrinked. When switching between "Auto" and "16:9" mode, the image is shown the same, with no difference. I have tried a lot of videos and it always happens. And I have tried in other tvs and there it is shown with the black stripes on top and bottom so images are seen ok.
I assume it is a bug that this tv has.
I have updated software son I am sure I have the latest version. I don't know what elese I can do.
Could anyone help me, please? please help
Thanks !
