UFC star Conor McGregor has filed a petition for judicial review of the sanctions placed on him by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his actions during a news conference in August.The petition was filed in Nevada last month, according to court documents. MMAJunkie.com first reported the news.In October, the NSAC fined McGregor $75,000 and ordered him to pay for an anti-bullying public service announcement -- with a production value of $75,000 -- and complete 50 hours of community service. He is also on the hook for $4,288.12 in NSAC attorney fees.McGregor (21-3) attended his disciplinary hearing via phone and apologized to the commission. The hearing was for McGregors actions during an August news conference in Las Vegas, days before he defeated Nate Diaz at UFC 202.During the news conference, McGregor and Diaz yelled at one another as the latter exited a theater in the MGM Grand Hotel. Diaz threw a water bottle in McGregors direction, which prompted the Irish fighter to return fire with bottles and cans.At the hearing, McGregors main concern seemed to be avoiding a suspension. At that time, he was scheduled to face Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 on Nov. 12. The NSAC did not suspend McGregor, and he fought at UFC 205 without issue.With that event out of the way and no fight booked, the lightweight champion apparently made the decision to contest the NSAC sanctions.NSAC executive director Bob Bennett confirmed to ESPN.com that records show McGregor still owes the entire monetary fine of $79,288.12.McGregor is expecting the birth of his first child in 2017.
