Off Topic » Got new Roku HD, same problem as with old one

Hello,

I have a ton of movies, and I have a pretty big issue with some of them, and after much research I think I found the cause. But first, my issue.

I will try to resume a movie, and with some movies, when I try to do so, the audio is out of sync. Trying to fast forward or reverse has one of several things happen.

1) the video will play normally for a second or two, then speed up considerably and the audio will be muted
2) the audio will be several seconds behind or ahead of the video

Playing any movie from the beginning I have no issue with audio and video sync.

So, after some research, and thinking about it, I've decided to look at all of the videos I have problems with resuming, and they all have one thing in common: 5.1 (ie 6 channel) variable bit rate audio. I do not have problems playing constant bit rate 6 channel audio, and my roku is set to stereo as I don't have anything to play 5.1 audio

I had this problem with my old roku HD, and have this problem with my new one (the new rounder model) with the same files.
